Our Story
Lyon Escapes is a family-run collection of holiday cottages in Moray and Aberdeenshire, created from a genuine love of the area and the memories made here over generations.
What began as childhood trips to the coast has grown into a small, thoughtful portfolio of places designed to help guests slow down, switch off, and feel at home from the moment they arrive.
Each property is carefully chosen for its setting, comfort and character – whether you’re planning a quiet coastal break along the Moray Coast, a dog-friendly escape, or time to simply breathe in the beauty of northeast Scotland.
We work with trusted booking partners to manage reservations, while we focus on what matters most: creating welcoming spaces and sharing the magic of this beautiful part of Scotland.

Perfect in every way
Daisy Cottage is perfect for getting away from everyday life.
The Prosecco was a lovely surprise and our dog Freddie loves the rope toy.
It offers idyllic views and peace of the countryside.
The woodburner is a must for an Autumn/winters evening while having a wee dram
It has good wi-fi and phone signal, well equipped kitchen. The cottage was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable.

My boys and I were up last summer, this was our 1st ever caravan holiday experience and we had a amazing time.
The beach is amazing which is like not even 5mins walk away from the caravan.
The caravan was clean and spacious with all the essentials. Bigger than we thought !

We had such a lovely stay at the Portknockie cottage with our two dogs. The cottage was really cosy and comfortable — the kind of place that helps you slow down and properly switch off.
Portknockie felt like a real hideaway from busy, everyday life, with beautiful coastal walks on the doorstep and nearby towns and villages to explore. We also loved having a great local restaurant and pub within walking distance, making evenings out easy and relaxed.
It was exactly the break we needed and will definitely be back.
